Learn the Chun Kuk Do way! Here at Southwest Fighting Arts in Chino Valley, we offer Karate and Martial Arts classes for beginners and advanced, and for kids to adults. Our students represent the communities of Prescott, Chino Valley, Prescott Valley and surrounding areas. Southwest Fighting Arts provides Chun Kuk Do Karate instruction, which is a fun, and very effective, martial arts discipline.
Our school is very family friendly, and we have a solid mixture of new students and advanced students that have been with us for years.

Not your typical Karate school, our art is Chun Kuk Do
Chun Kuk Do is a hybrid martial art founded and first taught by Chuck Norris. Norris started to develop the style in the 1970s and after using a number of names for his developing style the current name was adopted in 1990. The phrase “Chun Kuk Do” is loosely translated as “Universal Way” – more literal translations from the Korean are “the way of 1000 lands” or “the way of many lands.” This art evolved from Chuck Norris’ original training in Tang Soo Do, a Korean hard style striking martial art. This development has included the evolution and integration of Tang Soo Do with elements of Taekwondo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling, Muay Thai, Shotokan and many other martial arts. In some areas, the style was initially marketed as “Chuck Norris-style Tang Soo Do”.
Each summer Chun Kuk Do and its governing organization the United Fighting Arts Federation (UFAF) hold a convention and Chun Kuk Do world championship tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada.
